LAHORE: Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan and emerging batter Mohammad Irfan Khan have been ruled out of the remainder of the New Zealand series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a press release on Wednesday, confirming the exclusion of two batters.

“PCB Medical Panel yesterday received the Radiology reports of Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan,” the statement said.

“After reviewing the reports and in consultation with the Pakistan team management, it has been decided to rest the two players from Thursday’s and Saturday’s T20Is against New Zealand.

“The two players will work on their rehabilitation with the PCB Medical Panel at NCA.”

Prior to them, wicketkeeper Azam Khan was also ruled out of the ongoing series due to discomfort in his right knee and right calf muscle.

Khan was replaced by 21-year-old Haseebullah Khan, who made his sole T20I appearance against New Zealand earlier this year.
