Twitter lauds Abbas for ‘unreal consistency’ amid County Championship

KARACHI: Pakistan’s right-arm pacer Mohammad Abbas, has been making headlines for his unreal consistency in the ongoing County Championship 2023.

Mohammad Abbas, who is currently representing Hampshire, enjoying a purple patch as the right-arm pacer is leading the wicket-taking chart by 21 scalps in just three fixtures of the ongoing season.

His wicket-taking ability, however, was not the case that earned him praise from the cricket fans but his consistency and accuracy were.

A cricketing update page, named Bazball on Twitter showered praises on Abbas and questioned if the latter ever bowled a bad delivery.

“Has anyone seen Abbas bowl a bad ball? Please show me one. I dont believe it’s ever been seen before,” the user wrote while replying to a video posted by the official Twitter handle of County Championship of Abbas taking a wicket on the first delivery of an inning.

In reply, the official Twitter handle of the County Championship shared an astonishing fact about Abbas’s consistency that left fans in awe of the pacer.

According to the County Championship, Abbas has thus far bowled 4592 first-class deliveries (765.2 overs) for Hampshire and never bowled a wide ball.

“At the time of tweeting (he’s bowled 4 overs at Northampton), Abbas has bowled 4592 first-class deliveries for Hampshire – that’s 765.2 overs. He’s never bowled a wide,” wrote County Championship.

 

Notably, Abbas also completed his 100 wickets for Hampshire earlier this month during his side’s County Championship 2023 fixture against Nottinghamshire.
