DALLAS: A combined effort from MI New York bowlers booked LA Knight Riders for a paltry and led their side to a dominating 105-run victory in the sixth match of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC).
Set to chase a regulation 156-run target, the LA Knight Riders’ batting lineup failed completely against a disciplined MI New York bowling attack.
The Knight Riders, after a poor start, kept losing wickets at an alarming rate and were eventually bundled out for a mere 50 and thus handed a resounding 105-run victory to MI New York.
Opening batter Unmukt Chand waged a lone battle for the Knight Riders with a run-a-ball 26 while the rest failed completely and could not even make it into the double figures.
For MI New York, Trent Boult, Ehsan Adil, Kieron Pollard, Kagiso Rabada and Nosthush Kenjige picked two wickets each.
Opting to bat first, MI New York accumulated a commendable total of 155/8 in their quota of 20 overs with Tim David leading the charge with a quickfire 48.
MI New York, too, after having a poor start, lost wickets at regular intervals but a belligerent knock at the backend by Tim David led them to a respectable total.

The right-handed batter scored 48 off just 21 deliveries, laced with four boundaries and as many sixes.
Nicholas Pooran played an anchoring role in the middle with a 37-ball 38 which featured a boundary and two sixes, while the rest made modest contributions.
Adam Zampa and Ali Khan bagged two wickets each for LA Knight Riders while Lockie Ferguson struck out a batter.
In the fifth fixture of the ongoing MLC, Washington Freedom edged Texas Super Kings by six runs to register their maiden victory.
Opening batter Matthew Short muscled Freedom to a defendable total of 163/5 with a quickfire knock up the order and batted for almost 16 overs.
The right-handed batter smashed 80 runs from 50 balls, laced up with 10 boundaries and three sixes.
Chasing 164, the Super Kings fell just six runs short as they could amass 157/8 despite Dwayne Bravo’s fighting 76.
The veteran all-rounder, who came out to bat when his side was 50/5, glimmered a ray of hope for an astonishing victory with a counter-attacking knock but fell inches short of pulling it off.
He scored an unbeaten 76 in just 39 balls, hitting five boundaries and six sixes.
