AUCKLAND: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Tuesday, recalled Mark Chapman to their ODI squad for the upcoming five-match away series against Pakistan, scheduled to commence on April 27.

Chapman, who wreaked havoc in the fifth PAK vs NZ T20I here on Monday by scoring a match-winning century, got the reward of his scintillating knock as the young left-handed batter has been recalled to New Zealand ODI squad.

He scored an unbeaten 104 off 57 deliveries, laced up with 11 boundaries and four sixes to power New Zealand to a series-levelling victory over nervy Pakistan.

Chapman was sensational throughout the recently-concluded five-match T20I series as the left-handed batter’s runs tally of 290 was the most by any batter and was followed by Mohammad Rizwan, who had 162 runs to his name.

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead lauded Chapman’s performance in the T20I series against Pakistan and expressed his delight in having the in-form batter in the ODI squad as well.

“The way Mark’s played against one of the best T20 bowling attacks in the world has been nothing short of outstanding.

“His match-winning knock in the fifth and deciding match was particularly special and we’re happy to have someone in such strong form added to our ODI squad.”
