KARACHI: Pakistan’s leg-spinner – Shadab Khan heaped praise on the legendary West Indian batter – Brian Lara on his birthday, saying spinners of our generation are lucky as they do not have to bowl to him.
The legendary Caribbean batter Lara, who is celebrating his 53rd birthday, received a unique wish from Pakistani leggie Shadab.
The leg spinner took to Twitter and called Lara ‘The Great’, while also claiming that the spinners of this generation are lucky.
“Happy birthday to the great [Brian Lara]. Spinners of our generation are lucky, we don’t have to bowl to him,” he wrote.

Apart from Shadab, a number of current and former cricketers including Aamer Yamin and Rashid Latif, respectively – also wished Lara on his birthday.
It is pertinent to mention here that Lara represented West Indies in 430 matches and scored 22358 runs with the help of 53 centuries. He also holds the record for the highest individual score in Test cricket with 400*.
