
COLOMBO: Sam Harper starred with the bat as Galle Gallants romped to an six-wicket win over Colombo Kaps to book a place in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 final at the R Premadasa Stadium on Friday.

Set 177, Gallants sealed victory on the fourth ball of the 18th over, losing only four wickets in the process.
Earlier, Rubin Hermann and Ravindu Fernando’s vital knocks lifted Colombo Kaps to a strong total.
Opting to bat first, Kaps overcame a shaky start and racked up 176 in 18.5 overs.
Galle Gallants bowlers reduced Kaps to 52-5 in six overs before Ravindu Fernando and Rubin Hermann forged a 70-run partnership off 40 balls to lift them out of trouble.
The duo brought the total to 122 in 13.5 overs. Fernando smashed five sixes and a four in his 48 off 27. Hermann, meanwhile, continued and stitched another 36-run stand, bringing the total over the 150-run mark.
He eventually departed after scoring 45 on 33 deliveries, hitting two sixes and three fours. Malsha Tharupathi also chipped in with a late cameo of 28 off 17, including three fours and a six.
For Gallants, Charith Asalanka and Sachindu Colombage shared four wickets between them.
