Livingstone returns as England unveil Test squad for Pakistan tour

LONDON: Lancashire all-rounder Liam Livingstone returned as England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) named a strong 15-member contingent for their away Test series against Pakistan, scheduled later this year.

The ECB has named a strong 15-member squad for their historic tour to Pakistan after a gap of 17 years with the exception of their veteran pacer – Stuart Broad, who was not considered for selection.

According to the ECB, Broad’s partner is expecting their first child towards the end of November.

Meanwhile, Surrey all-rounder Will Jacks earned a maiden Test call-up for England following his impressive run in the County Championship Division One, guiding his side to the title victory.

Livingstone, on the other hand, will be looking to make his Test debut, having been called up to a Test squad for the first time since England’s tour of New Zealand in 2018.

It is pertinent to mention that England will tour Pakistan for a three-match Test series, scheduled from December 1 to 21. Rawalpindi, Multan and Karachi will host the three matches respectively.

England squad for the tour of Pakistan

Ben Stokes (Durham) captain, James Anderson (Lancashire), Harry Brook (Yorkshire), Zak Crawley (Kent), Ben Duckett (Nottinghamshire), Ben Foakes (Surrey), Will Jacks (Surrey), Keaton Jennings (Lancashire), Jack Leach (Somerset), Liam Livingstone (Lancashire), Jamie Overton (Surrey), Ollie Pope (Surrey), Ollie Robinson (Sussex), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Mark Wood (Durham)
