THE CAYMAN ISLANDS: Josh Little bagged three wickets before Ben Dunk’s quickfire 32-run knock powered Grand Cayman Jaguars to a resounding eight-wicket victory over Miami Lions in the seventh match of Max60 Caribbean on Tuesday.

Put into bat first, the Lions only managed to accumulate 79/9 in the allotted 10 overs despite Gerhard Erasmus’ anchoring knock.

The Lions got off to a disastrous start to their innings as they were reduced to 14/3 in two overs.

Coming out to bat at No.5, Erasmus offered some resistance with his blistering cameo before falling victim to Sikandar Raza, bringing the total down to 65/5 in eight overs.

Erasmus smashed three fours and a six on his way to top score for the Lions with a 20-ball 32.

Besides Ravi Bopara (18) made notable contributions to the Lions’ total while the rest of their batters failed to amass the double figures.

Josh Little led the bowling charge for Grand Cayman Jaguars with 3/19 in his two overs, followed by Mitchell McClenaghan with two wickets while Sikandar Raza, Logan van Beek and Terrance Hinds made one scalp each.

Chasing a modest 80-run target, the Jaguars comfortably knocked the winning runs for the loss of just two wickets and 19 balls to spare.

Leading the way for the home side was hard-hitting opener Ben Dunk, who laid a solid foundation with a blistering 32-run cameo, which featured four fours and two sixes.

He was supported by fellow opener Alex Hales, who made a brisk 24 off 13 deliveries with the help of three boundaries and a six.

The opening pair added 56 runs in the run chase before both perished in successive overs.

Later, Sikandar Raza (9*) and Saif Zaib (7*) made sure the momentum remains in the Jaguars’ favour and steered their side to a comfortable victory.

The eight-wicket victory lifted Grand Cayman Jaguars to third in the Max60 Caribbean standings with three points in three matches while Miami Lions remained at the bottom.
