All-round performance leads KP to win over Balochistan

Rawalpindi: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa showed a resounding performance all over, resulting in a comfortable win over Balochistan by 55 runs.

KP’s bowlers restricted Balochistan to 147/9 while defending 202 in the 14th match of the National T20 Cup.

Sohail Akhtar was the only notable batter for Balochistan, scoring 61 off 43 balls.

For KP, Asif Afridi bowled spell of 3/8 while Arshad Iqbal took 3/16. Shaheen Shah claimed two wickets for 30 runs.

Earlier. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s batters scored in an attacking mode, leading team total to 202/5 after being put in to bat first by Balochistan.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Israrullah provided a 43-run stand at the top. Israr made 19 off 12 balls while Rizwan scored 40 off 34.

Asif Afridi’s (16) time at the crease was eventful as he smashed two sixes and a four in his four-ball innings.

KP innings got momentum with Sahibzad Farhan and Iftikhar Ahmed’s partnership as they scored 59 off 29 balls.

Iftikhar scored 36 off 18 while Farhan made 43 off 31. At the backend, Adil Amin (26 off 13) and Musadiq Ahmed (17 off 9) took KP’s total to 200-run mark.

Kashif Bhatti took two wickets while Amad Butt, Umaid Asif and Junaid Khan bagged one each.
