KARACHI: Brig (retd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar has been re-elected unopposed as the president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Friday.
According to the details, Khokhar was elected unopposed for the period of four years along with Haider Hussain as secretary and Shahid Pervaiz Bhandara as Finance secretary of PHF in the meeting held here at Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Club. All three were elected unopposed as no other candidate filed the nomination papers for the posts.
Earlier, PSB sent a letter to Khokhar, the then president of the ad-hoc committee, on August 3, a copy of which is available to ARY News, citing their concerns over the conduct of elections without fulfilling the constitutional and legal formalities.
The letter read: “Holding of elections by ignoring the lawful modus operandi shall have no legal sanctity in the eyes of law and shall lead to the initiation of legal proceedings by different factions of Hockey ultimately culminating at having an adverse effect on Pakistan Hockey.”
