LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Wednesday, announced the squad for the upcoming home T20I series against Bangladesh.
The cricket board confirmed in its press release that Salman Ali Agha, appointed as white-ball captain prior to the New Zealand tour, will continue to lead the team.
“The selection committee has named a 16-member men’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, with Salman Ali Agha continuing as captain of the team,” the press release stated.
“The squad has been selected based on players’ performances in the ongoing HBL PSL X, which concludes on 25 May. This series also marks the first assignment for newly appointed head coach Mike Hesson.”
The star batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan remained out of the T20I squad despite their good showings with the bat during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.
Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, Usman Khan and Abdul Samad, who were part of the squad during the New Zealand tour, were also dropped.
It’s worth noting that all three matches of the T20I series will be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Meanwhile, the schedule for the series will be announced soon.
