Kedar Jadhav retires from all forms of cricket

Former India all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket at the age of 39.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the all-rounder thanked his supporters before calling time on his professional career.

“Thank you all For your love and support throughout my career. From 1500 hrs, consider me as retired from all forms of cricket,” wrote Jadhav.

Jadhav made his international debut for India in 2014 against Sri Lanka in November.

Later, Kedar Jadhav was included in the India team for the two tours to Zimbabwe. In 2015, he scored an undefeated century. However, in 2016, he could not get an opportunity to bat throughout the series.

His lone extended stint in the ODIs was in October 2016, when he played in all five of India’s home matches against New Zealand.

In the next few years, Kedar Jadhav emerged as a regular part of India’s ODI lineup, playing the role of a finisher.

He was a part of the Indian team that lost to Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final and was a part of India’s squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019.

The all-rounder failed to impress in one of the biggest matches of his career as he managed just nine runs in the Champions Trophy final against Pakistan with the bat and picked up one wicket for 27 runs in three overs.

His last appearance for India came in February 2020 in an away ODI against New Zealand.

All in all, Kedar Jadhav represented India in 73 ODIs and nine T20Is and scored 1511 runs with the help of two centuries and seven fifties.
