Karachi Kings seek maiden PSL 7 victory against Islamabad United today

Babar Azam-led Karachi Kings will lock horns with Shadab Khan’s Islamabad United today in search of their maiden victory in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7.

The PSL 2020 champions suffered four straight losses in this year’s event that kicked off January 27 after a glittering opening ceremony at National Stadium Karachi. The Kings lost their opening match against Multan Sultans followed by defeats against Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi respectively.

Babar XI desperately needs a win before the league transfers to Lahore for its second phase, starting from February 10 at iconic Gaddafi Stadium.

On the other hand, United will look for a victory with good margin to over take Qalandars on second position at the points table. Shadab’s team has to come over their close defeat against Qalandars by just eight runs the other day. They have to forget Zaman Khan’s spellbinding last over to defend 12 runs before taking on Kings.

With four points, United are currently at number three position.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

In last five contests between the two teams, United won three while Kings won two.
