Former India captain Kapil Dev praised Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma highly, calling them huge servants of the national cricket team.
Kohli and Sharma have been mainstays of the Indian batting line-up in all formats for more than a decade, leading the team to countless victories.
Recently, Team India under the leadership of Sharma won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating South Africa in the final, where Kohli played a key role with a 76-run knock.
Following the World Cup victory, both batters announced their retirement from the shorter format.
Kapil Dev, who led India to their first-ever ODI World Cup in 1983, lauded both batters, stressing that nobody can replace them in any format.

He went on to state that Sharma and Kohli have the same status in Indian cricket as the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni.
“No one can take Virat and Rohit’s place in the Indian team in any format. They have been a huge servant of Indian cricket and it was a happy farewell for them,” Dev said while talking to IANS.
“The stature that Virat has made of himself in all formats, he will surely be missed in T20Is. Both are as same as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. They are irreplaceable.”
It is pertinent to mention that Virat Kohli represented India in 125 T20Is and accumulated 4188 runs at a brilliant average of 48.69 with the help of one century and 38 fifties.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, who made his T20I debut in 2007, represented the nation in 159 matches and accumulated 4231 runs at an average of 32.05 with the help of five centuries and 32 fifties.
