National Judo player Hussain wins first medal for Pakistan in CWG 2022

BIRMINGHAM: National Judo player Shah Hussain Shah secured the first medal for Pakistan in the ongoing Commonwealth Games as he outclassed South African opponent Thomas-Laszlo Breytenbach in the competition on Wednesday.

Amid Pakistan’s dismal show in the ongoing Commonwealth Games, Judo player Hussain emerged as the hope for the country and secured the maiden medal in the global event.

While the majority of the national athletes in various sports have crashed out of the medal race including the national women’s cricket team. Hussain shone at the glittering event and secured a Bronze medal.

Besides Hussain, national weightlifter Muhammad Nooh Dastagir Butt will be in action in the final of Men’s 109+kg today. Whereas, his fellow Hanzala Dastagir Butt remained unsuccessful in the Men’s 109 kg Final as he finished ninth.
