NEW DELHI: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be left out of India’s T20 World Cup campaign as he will undergo serious knee surgery which will keep him out of action for an extended period.
Jadeja, who played a crucial knock in India’s successful run chase against Pakistan in the high-octane clash of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, was earlier ruled out of the continental event due to a knee injury.
“Jadeja’s right knee injury is pretty serious. He is supposed to undergo a major knee surgery and will be out of action for indefinite period of time. At this point, if one goes by the assessment of the NCA’s medical team, one can’t put a timeline on his imminent international comeback,” said a senior BCCI official as reported by Indian media.
Reportedly, Jadeja will be out of action for at least three months despite the true extent of his injury is not confirmed yet.
The left-arm spinner is also known for his hard-hitting skills and for the last few years he had undertaken the role of match finisher for India.
