Islamabad United rope in THIS power-hitter to bolster batting unit

Defending champions Islamabad United have added more firepower to their already dominant squad, signing hard-hitting domestic batter Mohammad Faiq for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

The franchise announced the signing on April 29 through their social media, aiming to strengthen their batting lineup in pursuit of a historic fourth title.

The 28-year-old has been making waves in the domestic circuit with his aggressive and consistent run-scoring, and he’s no stranger to big knocks under pressure.

Mohammad Faiq recently lit up the National T20 Cup with a jaw-dropping knock for Lahore Whites, smashing an unbeaten 116 off just 56 balls in Faisalabad on March 17.

His whirlwind innings included 12 boundaries and six massive sixes, showcasing his clean hitting and ability to accelerate at will.

That knock wasn’t a one-off. It was Faiq’s second T20 ton, following up on his unbeaten 110 in the previous 2023–24 National T20 season.

With Islamabad United sitting pretty at the top of the table, five wins from five matches, the inclusion of someone like Faiq only adds to their arsenal as the business end of the tournament approaches.

The Shadab Khan-led side is set to take on Lahore Qalandars later today in their second clash of the season. United had comfortably won the first meeting on April 11 with an eight-wicket hammering at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
