India-South Africa series to be played behind closed doors

CAPE TOWN: Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced that the series against India, will take place without the spectators, amidst the rising concerns regarding COVID-19.

Taking to Twitter, the CSA announced that both boards took the decision; keeping the safety of the players and tour first.

The CSA also announced the broadcasting details of the tour in the tweet.

The India tour to South Africa in 2021 will include both ODI and a Test series. The Test series between India and South Africa will be played first, followed by the ODI series. The ODI and Test series will each have three games. The India-South Africa ODI and Test series will take place from December 26 to January 23.

On the other hand, South Africa’s Mzansi Super League has also been called off due to the rising CoVID-19 spread. It is the second time that the league has been cancelled due to the widely spread virus.
