SHARJAH: Pakistan’s match-winning batter against New Zealand, Asif Ali tells the importance of winning a T20 World Cup contest against the Kewis.
In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Asif said victory against New Zealand was very important for them as a team in connection with their withdrawal from the Pakistan tour last month.
“The match against New Zealand was very important for us after India, and we all were very confident about it. I entered the ground with an aim to finish the match and alhamdulillah I did it,” said Asif who scored match-winning quick 27 against New Zealand.
Asif also shared the conversation between him and experienced cricketer Shoaib Malik who kept things going from the other end.
“Shoaib bhai shook hands with me and asked me to play straight as the ball was coming a bit slower. We practiced together before the match and he is a great helper to me always,” Asif told.
The right-handed batter is confident to continue his shining performance in upcoming matches of Pakistan.
