All-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed has highlighted the lack of an attacking mindset behind the Pakistan cricket team’s struggles in the recent past.
The Green Shirts have been under fire for the last one year, owing to their below-par performances in the multi-nation events.
Pakistan, under the captaincy of Babar Azam, were knocked out from the group stages of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as well as the T20 World Cup 2024.
Moreover, recently the Green Shirts succumbed to a 2-0 loss in the two-match series against Bangladesh.
Iftikhar Ahmed, during a conversation on a YouTube channel, acknowledged the team’s recent struggles, while stressing the need to adopt an aggressive mindset.

“Australia, England and India, in my opinion, have a mindset of playing attacking cricket whether they are batting or bowling, which is why they are so dominant,” said the 34-year all-rounder.
“In my opinion, the Pakistan team needs to adopt such attacking strategies in their play otherwise we will not be able to beat the bigger sides in world cricket,” he added.
Pakistan are set to host England for a three-match Test series against England, starting from October 7.
The three-match series will run from October 7 to 28 and is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25.
