ICC announces schedule for inaugural U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

DUBAI: International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the fixtures for the inaugural edition of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled next year from January 14 to 29, in South Africa.

Pakistan will kick off its campaign on January 15 with a group match against Rwanda. The Green Shirts are placed in Group C along with England, Zimbabwe and Rwanda.

A total of 41 matches will be played throughout the tournament featuring 16 teams. Earlier ICC finalized Benoni and Potchefstroom as the venues to host the event.

The participating team have been split into four groups. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six League stage, starting on January 20, where teams from Group A will compete against Group D and Group B will play against Group C.

Both the semifinal will take place on January 27  while the final has been slated on 29 January at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom.
