Hassan Eisakhel fifty aids Sharjah to thump Emirates Blues in D10 League

ABU DHABI: Hassan Eisakhel wreaked havoc with a blistering half-century before bowlers steered Sharjah to a dominant 65-run victory over Emirates Blues in the 37th fixture of the ongoing Emirates D10 League.

Opting to bat first, Sharjah accumulated a mammoth 139/3 in 10 overs, thanks to a quickfire half-century by Hassan Eisakhel.

Sharjah openers Eisakhel and Qamar Awan laid a solid foundation for a massive total as they put on a brilliant opening partnership; adding 73 runs inside five overs.

Hassan Eisakhel was the core aggressor of the brilliant opening stand with Awan as he struck a belligerent 63 off just 20 deliveries, laced up with six boundaries and five sixes before Adithya Shetty finally got rid of him in the fifth over.

Qamar Awan then also looked to switch gears amid his brief partnership with Usman Khan until he perished in the next over as Alishan Sharafu trapped him. He scored 16 off 11 with the help of a six.

Usman Khan then spearheaded Sharjah’s march for a massive total with a sensational knock which ended in the final over. He smashed two boundaries and two sixes on his way to a brisk 19-ball 31.

For Emirates Blues, Sabir Rao, Adhitya Shetty and Alishan Sharafu could pick up a wicket.

Set to chase a mammoth total, the Emirates Blues’ batting lineup failed completely and finished at 74/6 in the allotted 10 overs.

Ashwant Valthapa top-scored for Emirates Blues amid a dismal show with the bat; scoring 22 off 18 deliveries.

Besides him, Aryan Saxena (13) and skipper Unaib Rehman (12) remained the notable run-getters which, however, turned out insufficient to steer their side to glory as the rest of their batters remained clueless against Sharjah’s bowling attack and failed to make it into the double figures.

Matiullah Khan and Mohammad Nadeem were the picks of the bowlers for Sharjah as they bagged two wickets each while Muhammad Mudassar Ali and Taimoor Bhatti struck out a batter each.
