ABU DHABI: Delhi Bulls’ Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Chandrapaul Hemraj powered their side to chase down the target of 81 in fifth over of their ongoing fixture, here on Wednesday.
Dwayne Bravo, the captain of the Delhi Bulls, invited the Braves batters to bat first after winning the toss. Batting first, the Bulls lost their first two wickets for just 11 runs, as Mohammad Shahzad was dismissed on 5, whereas, Bhanuka Rajapaksa was dismissed for a three-ball duck by Romario Shepherd.
Angelo Perera, the skipper, opposed and scored a sensible 40 off just 24 deliveries before being bowled out by his counterpart. The remaining batters were rather slow, and none of them were able to go deep. In the end, the Braves finished on 80/4 in their allotted 10 overs.
For the Bulls, Bravo, Shepherd, and Adil Rashid each struck out a batter.
In response, Bull’s openers sailed the ball all over the ground and chased the target down in the fifth over. Gurbaz scored 57 off 16 deliveries, including six maximums and five boundaries, and remained unbeaten. Hemraj, on the other hand, was also impressive as the batter scored an unbeaten 24 off just 9 deliveries. In the end, the Bulls defeated the Braves by a ten-wicket margin.
Braves’ bowlers were taken to the cleaners and none of their bowlers could take a wicket.
With this victory, the Bulls have consolidated their third-place on the points table. The Braves, on the other hand, remained at the bottom.
