Lahore: Gujranwala will host the first-ever tape-ball cricket league from June 25-30, ARY Sports reported.
A total of eight franchise teams will take part in the league. The winning team of the tournament will get prize money of Rs. 3 million. Runners-up will be given a prize of Rs. 1 million. All teams have formed via franchise-style drafting.
“We are trying to promote tape ball cricket. This league will help establish tape-ball cricket on a professional basis,” former Test cricketer Muhammad Khalil.
“All league matches will be played at Gujranwala Stadium,” former cricket and director league Abdul Rehman.
“We have tried to take steps to solve the economic problems of the players. Future stars will be seen playing in this league. Former Test cricketers will be present with all the teams as mentors,” he added.
