ALAJUELA: The 10th edition of FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is set to embark on August 10 as Germany and Colombia will lock horns in the curtain raiser.
This year’s edition of the U-20 Women’s World Cup is set to roll into action on Wednesday (August 10) after being cancelled in 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The tournament features 16 teams, divided into four groups and a total of 34 matches will be contested over a 20-day period. Group A features Australia, Brazil, host Costa Rica, and Spain, while Group B features Colombia, Germany, Mexico, and New Zealand.
The defending champion Japan, alongside Ghana, Netherlands, and United States placed in Group D. Whereas, Group C comprises Canada, France, Nigeria, and South Korea.

Germany will face off with Colombia in a curtain-raiser on August 10, while a total of four matches will be contested on August 11 including the host Costa Rica starting their U20 Women’s World Cup campaign against Australia. Whereas, the reigning champion Japan will take on the Netherlands on August 12.
The action-filled tournament will be telecasted live on Pakistan’s first HD Sports channel – A Sports and will be simultaneously streamed on the digital platform of ARY Digital Network – ARY ZAP in crystal clear HD quality.
