Final T20I washed out as Pakistan Women end winless tour in Australia

CANBERRA: With a lot to ponder on before they set foot in South Africa for the T20I mega event, the Bismah Maroof-led Pakistan can certainly learn from the experience of playing against one of the most competitive sides in Women’s cricket after they failed to break the status-quo in Australia.

Rain washed out the final T20I on Sunday without a ball being bowled, leaving Pakistan devoid of any cheerful moments from their last trip before the Women’s T20I World Cup in February as Australia completely dominated the visitors on their home soil.

Pakistan, who are yet to claim their first win in Australia, lost the ODI series 3-0 followed by a 2-0 T20I defeat during the current tour that happened after a hiatus of almost nine years.

Though there was little optimism left looking at the deplorable outcomes of the two earlier T20Is in which Australia bagged comprehensive wins by eight wickets in each game, Pakistan surely had a chance to figure out the combination before boarding South Africa’s flight.

It is important to note here that Pakistan will play their first match in Group B against arch-rivals India on February 12.
