Fakhar, bowlers hand second consecutive victory to Qalandars in PSL 7

KARACHI: Zaman Khan bagged three wickets and David Wiese took two wickets to help Lahore Qalandars defend 200 runs and win ninth match against Peshawar Zalmi by 29 runs. 

Set to chase mammoth 200 runs, Zalmi suffered batting collapse after Kamran Akmal resisted a bit to get his team over the chasing line. The right-handed batter, who made his comeback after recovering from COVID-19, scored 41 including four boundaries and two sixes.

Haider Ali kept scoring runs despite losing wickets on the other end. He smashed 49 laced with three boundaries and as many sixes.

Sherfane Rutherford also contributed 21 runs off 11 balls including three boundaries and a six but Zalmi could only score 170-9.

Apart from Zaman and Wiese, Shaheen Shah Afridi took two while Rashid Khan managed to take one.

Sent into bat first, Fakhar Zaman continued his red-hot form and scored 66 runs to drive Qalandars to 199-4.

Sent into bat first, Qalandars got solid start from their openers Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar. The opening duo scored 94 runs together to lay down solid foundation for Qalandars to score big total.

Abdullah struck two boundaries and three boundaries to score 41 runs off 31 balls. Fakhar smashed 66 runs off 38 balls including six boundaries and three sixes.

Kamran Ghulam contributed 30 runs and Mohammad Hafeez remained not out for 37 laced with three boundaries and a six.

Rashid Khan steered the show in the end and smacked three sixes to score quick 22 runs off eight balls.

For Zalmi, Salman Irshad bagged two wickets while Usman Qadir and Hussain Talat shared a wicket apiece.
