‘Excited to lead bowling attack against Australia at home’ Afridi

LAHORE: Young pace ace Shaheen Shah Afridi is confident to lead his team’s bowling attack when they take on mighty Australians in three Tests, as many ODIs and one-off T20I at home in March-April this year.

In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Afridi said Australia is a tough team, performing against them leaves a name for any cricketer.

“Australia last toured Pakistan in 1998 when I wasn’t even born. It is an exciting opportunity for me to lead Pakistan’s bowling when they come here after 24 years,” the youngster shared his feelings.

“I will be playing at home against Australia for the very first time. In fact, all of our players will face them at home for the first time. Our fans will also watch them for the first time in our stadiums. So, overall it’s a historic tour,” he added.

The 20-years-old cricketer feels that his team is prepared for the Aussie challenge at home. “Our team is ready to face them at home. Obviously, we’ll be having a home advantage. And, any team with home advantage, keeps an upper hand over the opponents,” he said.

“We will try to play our best cricket and amuse our fans. We can’t wait for it,” the pacer concluded.
