Adhitya, Alishan star as Emirates Blues thrash Sharjah in D10 League

ABU DHABI: Right-arm spinner Adhitya Shetty starred with the ball before Alishan Sharafu’s unbeaten half-century in the run chase muscled Emirates Blues to a perfect 10-wicket victory over Sharjah in the 14th match of the ongoing Emirates D10 League.

Opting to bat first, Sharjah could only accumulate 87/5 in the allotted 10 overs despite Hassan Eisakhel’s quickfire knock. He smashed three sixes and a boundary on his way to a 21-ball 30 and top-scored for Sharjah.

Besides Eisakhel, none of Sharjah’s batters could go big with only Khalid Shah remaining the other notable run-getter with a 13-ball 14.

Adhitya Shetty led the bowling attack for the Blues as he picked up three wickets and only leaked 12 runs in the process.

Set to chase a modest 88-run target, Emirates Blues comfortably chased down the total in the eighth over without losing a wicket.

Alishan Sharafu was the core aggressor of his unbeaten partnership with Zawar Farid as he scored 59 off just 28 deliveries, laced up with nine boundaries and two sixes.

His opening partner, Farid, on the other hand, firmed the other end and also carried his bat all the way through after an 18-ball 19 with the help of a boundary and a six.

None of the Sharjah bowlers could pick up a wicket and thus, Emirates Blues registered a thumping 10-wicket victory.
