Egypt’s Karim, Youssef reach GFS Karachi Open Squash Final

KARACHI: In the men’s event of the ongoing GFS Karachi Open Squash Champions, Egypt’s top seed and the former world champion Karim Abdel Gawad and his countryman Youssef Soliman secured semi-final victories to book their place in the final.

In the first semi-final of the men’s event on the action-packed fourth day of the GFS Karachi Open Squash Championship, Egypt’s top seed Karim thumped his fellow countryman Omar Mosaad 3-0 to secure a final berth.

Another Egyptian Youssef, on the other hand, laboured hard to win 3-1 against Mexico’s Leonel Cardenas to set up the final clash with Gawad, scheduled on Saturday.

In the women’s event, Hong Kong’s Chan Sin Yuk made her way into the final after her English opponent Lucy Beecroft was forced to retire after being down 2-0.
