ABU DHABI: Ronak Panoly’s quickfire 43 followed by Nilansh Keswani’s 3/12 lifted Dubai to edge Sharjah by one run after a high-scoring thriller in the ongoing Emirates D10 League.
Set to chase 102, Sharjah fell just one run short as they raised 100/8 in 10 overs despite Hassan Eisakhel’s sensational 33-run knock.
Sharjah had a dismal start to the run chase as they were two down for just 13 runs in the second over as opener Usman Khan (0) and Fayyaz Ahmad (8) perished cheaply.
Following the slump, Hassan Eisakhel and Mohammad Nadeem launched the recovery for their side as the pair added 42 runs amid their third-wicket partnership until the former perished.
Eisakhel struck two boundaries and as many sixes on his way to a 17-ball 33.
Following Eisakhel’s dismissal, Muhammad Nadeem put on a brief partnership with Muhammad Uzair Khan before Ronak Panoly brought down the curtains on his cautious 17-run knock in 14 deliveries.
Muhammad Uzair Khan looked to turn on the game for Sharjah with a quickfire cameo of 24 in just nine balls, laced up with three boundaries and two sixes, but Nilansh Keswani got rid of him in the penultimate over to retain Dubai’s dominance.
Sharjah then needed 12 runs off the final over and all-rounder Aryan Lakra was given the ball, who held his nerves calm to keep the Sharjah batters at bay and steered his side to a narrow victory.
Nilansh Keswani led the bowling attack for Dubai with 3/12, followed by Ronak Panoly’s 2/26 while Rahul Bhatia and Aryan Lakra struck out a batter each.

Opting to bat first, Dubai piled up a massive total of 101/7 in their quota of overs, thanks to a brilliant knock by Ronak Panoly.
Panoly thwacked four boundaries and three sixes and top-scored for Dubai with a 23-ball 43.
Besides him, Aryan Lakra also remained the notable contributor with the bat as he scored 30 off 21 deliveries and scripted a solid start for his side.
Muhammad Mudassar Ali and Mohammad Nadeem bagged two wickets each for Sharjah while Muhammad Uzair-Khan and Muhammad Saghir Khan made one scalp each.
The narrow one-run victory propelled Dubai in the Emirates D10 League standings as they claimed the fourth position with six points while Sharjah slipped to fifth with as many points.
