KARACHI: New Zealand’s opener Martin Guptill shared that the decision to cancel Pakistan tour was very disappointing for him.
Speaking to media online, Guptill said the New Zealand team was really looking forward to playing in Pakistan.
“I guess it was disappointing for everyone involved. We were all looking forward to playing some cricket and getting a bit of game-time before the World Cup and that wasn’t to be. I know Pakistan are really looking forward to having some cricket back in their home country. We’re all hoping that there’s going to be cricket there again soon,” he said.
It must be noted here that New Zealand Cricket called off the Pakistan tour citing security threats to their team in Rawalpindi. They cancelled the tour just minutes before the toss for the first ODI.
