KARACHI: Fellow Pakistani cricketers wished the former Pakistan left-arm pacer, Mohammad Amir, on his 30th birthday.

Amir, who represented Pakistan in 147 international matches, and bowled an exceptional spell in the final of the Champions Trophy 2017 against arch-rivals India is celebrating his 30th birthday today.

The left-arm pacer was also a part of the 2009 T20 World Cup triumph in England, decided to call off his career in 2020 after playing the second T20I of the three-match series; citing his disappointment due to the management of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

His former fellow cricketers, however, took to their Twitter handles to wish the pacer on his 30th birthday.

Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who led the green shirts to the Champions Trophy triumph, remembered his match-saving partnership with Amir in a must-win match against Sri Lanka besides wishing the latter on his birthday.

“Happy Birthday, Babu. A lot of love and prayers for you. Would like to have another partnership like that again,” Sarfaraz tweeted.

Another former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, also took to his Twitter to wish Amir on his birthday while sharing a picture of themselves.

The young Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah, on the other hand, shared the footage of Amir taking the last wicket of England’s innings in the first Test of the four-match series on his return to the red-ball cricket in 2016.

“Happy Birthday Amir Bhai,” Naseem wrote.

Amir’s counterpart Wahab Riaz also wished the former on his birthday and termed him as one of the finest pacers produced by Pakistan.
