THE CAYMAN ISLANDS: Josh Brown’s quickfire half-century, coupled with a combined bowling effort led Caribbean Tigers to thump New York Strikers and win the inaugural edition of the Max60 Caribbean here on Sunday.

Tigers’ captain George Munsey’s decision to bat first bore fruit as the side registered a massive total of 125/6 in the allotted 10 overs.

Leading the way with the bat was opening batter Brown, who smashed four fours and six sixes on his way to top score for the Caribbean Tigers with an 18-ball 60.

Brown provided a flying start to the Tigers with a blazing knock before Chris Lynn took control.

Lynn, after coming out to bat in the third over, carried his bat until the final over to keep the scoreboard ticking.

The right-handed batter scored 35 off 16 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Besides Brown and Lynn, none of the Tigers’ batters could amass the double figures.

Perera remained the top-scorer for the Strikers with an 11-ball 25 which featured two fours and as many sixes.

He was followed by opener Brandon McMullen (12) and Isuru Udana (10) while the rest failed to contribute significantly in the run chase.
