LONDON: England have announced a 19-member T20I squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan with Moeen Ali set to lead the team before Jos Buttler assumes the charge in the latter stage of the seven-match T20I series scheduled from September 20 to October 2.
England’s white-ball skipper Buttler is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a calf injury and will join the team later on the tour, confirmed England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Liam Livingstone and Chris Jordan have been rested for the tour as they are completing their rehabilitation from the injuries.
Meanwhile, five uncapped players also received a call-up in England’s squad for the historic tour of Pakistan, which include two batters Jordan Cox and Will Jacks, and three seamers Tom Helm, Olly Stone and Luke Wood.
It is pertinent to mention that the forthcoming tour marks England’s first visit to Pakistan after a gap of 17 years. The team last toured the country back in 2005 for three Tests and five ODIs.
