Pakistan’s blind cricketer Akram bids adieu to international cricket

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Blind Cricket Team’s explosive opening batter Muhammad Akram has bid adieu to international cricket after the conclusion of the home T20I series against South Africa, here on Tuesday.

Akram, who played his last international match against South Africa here today, has decided to call off on his stunning career. The top-order batter smashed 51 off 24 balls in his last international game and inspire the home side to a crushing 163-runs victory.

Akram holds the record of the highest individual score (266) in Blind T20I cricket. He achieved this remarkable feat against West Indies in the 2017 World Cup.

Players from South Africa and Pakistan also presented the guard of honour to Akram before the commencement of the third T20I.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Blind Cricket Team has whitewashed the Proteas in the three-match T20I series that concluded today.
