Blind Cricket: Pakistan beat South Africa by 249 runs in first ODI

KARACHI: Pakistan Blind Cricket sealed a consolidating 249-runs victory in the first ODI against South Africa Blind Cricket Team, here on Monday.

Set to chase 474, the South African Blind Cricket Team could only manage to score 224 runs before being bowled out in the 39th over.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Shahzaib (B1) led the way; taking three wickets, while Akmal Hayat Nasir (B3), Mohammad Salman (B1), Mohsin Khan (B3), and Shahzaib Haider (B2) struck out a batter each.

In the run chase, Lwande Bhidla (B3) and Buhle Bhidla (B2) resisted a bit; scoring 44 and 40 respectively, while the rest of the batters failed to chip in for the touring side.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a massive total of 473-4 in the allotted 40 overs, thanks to the centuries from Ahtisham Ul Haq (B2), Mohammad Salman (B1), and Shahzaib Haider (B2).

Salman (B1) top-scored for the home side; scoring a quickfire 133 runs off 67 balls, while Ahtisham (B2) followed back with a stunning knock of 122 runs off just 69 balls.

The middle-order batter Shahzaib (B2) then bolstered the proceedings for the home side; scoring a magnificent 118 for a mere 56 balls.

For the Proteas, Lwande (B3) bagged two wickets, while DR William Malinga (B1) and Asanda Isaac Bidla (B2) shared one wicket apiece.
