DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that their spin bowling coach, Rangana Herath, tested positive for Covid-19.
Chairman Cricketing Operation BCB, Akram Khan, shared that a Covid-positive patient was on board in the flight from Malaysia to New Zealand, Herath and some players were in close touch with the patient. Herath has isloated himself.
“Herath, our spin bowling coach, tested positive for Covid-19. According to the rules, Herath may have to spend more time in quarantine,” said Akram.
Bangladesh players, have completed their isolation period, and are freed to participate in practice sessions.
The two-match Test series between the two nations, will be held from January 1st, 2022 till January 13th.
