DUBAI: Bangladesh began their ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 campaign with a 71-run win over Indonesia at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Batting first, Bangladesh made 129-8 in their 20 overs, with Sobhana Mostary top-scoring with 40 from 42 balls.
Mostary hit two fours and a six, while Shorna Akter provided late impetus with an unbeaten 31 from 18 balls, including three fours and a six.
Dilara Akter contributed 27, while captain Nigar Sultana also made a useful contribution as Bangladesh posted a competitive total.
Indonesia’s Ni Ariani was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-28 from her four overs. Ni Luh Dewi claimed two wickets, while Ni Made Putri Suwandewi and Sofia Velic took one each.

Indonesia, making their debut in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, struggled in the chase and were bowled out for 58 in 17.3 overs.
Maria Corazon was the only Indonesia batter to reach double figures, scoring 12 from 13 balls.
Bangladesh’s Nahida Akter took 3-15 in four overs and was named Player of the Match. Marufa Akter added 2-6 from three overs, while Sanjida Akter Meghla and Fahima Khatun took one wicket apiece.
The victory moved Bangladesh into second place in Group B on two points, behind Sri Lanka on net run-rate. Sri Lanka also have two points from one match.
