Bangla Tigers to feature in two more T10 leagues

DUBAI: Bangladesh-based Abu Dhabi T10 League franchise Bangla Tigers on Thursday, signed a monumental deal in a glittering ceremony here to participate in two major T10 leagues.

The franchisee and T10 Global inked a deal to create a significant alliance in the T10 cricket league.

A large number of cricket fans and journalists, including the owner of T10 League, and the owner of the franchise, attended the ceremony.

The newly-signed deal will allow Bangla Tigers to feature in the Lanka T10 League as Bangla Tigers Hambantota and Zim Afro T10 League as Bangla Tigers Joburg simultaneously along with Abu Dhabi T10 League organised by T10 Global for the next 10 years.

The inaugural edition of the Lanka T10 League will run from December 12 to December 23 while the second season of the Zim Afro T10 League is expected to be held in March 2024 as per the tentative schedule.

Prominent personalities including Bangla Tigers CEO Zaffir Yasin Chowdhury, owner Muhammad Yasin Chowdhury, and chairman and CEO of T10 Global Shaji Ul Mulk and Rajeev Khanna attended the glittering ceremony here.

Shaji congratulated the franchise for joining the worldwide T10 League and praised their efforts to promote cricket.

“We are delighted and ready to celebrate the big events like league tournaments with Bangla Tigers. It is exciting to have them on board for the two major International Leagues for the next 10 years,” he added.

CEO T10 Global Khanna expressed his hope that the franchise’s inclusion in two more leagues will attract more fan following.

“When they take the field, they have a large number of fans behind them. We hope that their fans will support their team in the Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe Leagues,” he said.

Meanwhile, the franchise owner Yasin Chowdhury stated that his side played an integral role in the promotion of cricket in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and also termed it the “right time” to promote T10 cricket by organizing more leagues.

“Bangla Tigers played an important role in the promotion of cricket in UAE. Our franchise has received a lot of support for the past few years.

“This is the right time. T10 league should be promoted and leagues should be organized in different countries of the world.”
