‘Babar, Rizwan in good form, will plan to get them out earlier’ WI coach

KARACHI: West Indies’ head coach, Phil Simmons talked to the media in a video conference and shared the plans for the series against Pakistan.

Simmons said that Pakistani openers are consistently playing well in the shortest format and we are targeting to dismiss them early on.

“Pakistani openers are consistently performing well, we will try to break the opening pair soon,” he said.

“We can put pressure if the openers out early. Plan A, B, C is ready for the openers,” he added.

West Indian coach also lauded Pakistan’s pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi and termed him as one of the best bowlers currently.

“Afridi is one of the best bowlers. We have young players in our team, we want to see how they play against him,” he said.

“We are making a strategy against Afridi,” he added.

Simmons also shared that to beat Pakistan in their home conditions is a tough task but the coach is hopeful for the challenge.

“Playing against Pakistan in their home is a challenge. Our players will be tested in these conditions. Our goal is just to win the series,” he said.

Simmons also shared that he always enjoyed touring the country and never faced any issues.
