Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are set to miss the upcoming Champions T20 Cup, scheduled in Rawalpindi, as they were not named in any squad.
Earlier today, the five mentors unveiled their provisional squads for the Champions T20 Cup. However, Babar, Rizwan, and Shaheen were notable absentees from the players’ list.
This five-team tournament is set to take place from December 7 to December 25. Unfortunately, it will coincide with Pakistan’s tour of South Africa, scheduled from December 10 to 22.
Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi, will be fulfilling their national duties and will, therefore, miss the Champions T20 Cup.
While the national selection committee is still in the process of finalizing the squad for the tour of South Africa, it’s expected that Rizwan, as the white-ball captain, along with his fellow senior players Babar and Shaheen, will secure their spots in the lineup.
