‘Australia committed to tour Pakistan’ CEO Cricket Australia

MELBOURNE: Nick Hokley, CEO Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed to be closely working with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to send Australian cricket team to Pakistan in March, next year.

Hockley, while referring to the Australian security delegation’s visit to the country, said that the team will tour despite the rising COVID-19 concerns.

“CA is committed to send it’s team to Pakistan in March, next year. Despite the fresh COVID-19 concerns over the omicron strain,” he said.

“We are willing to send a team to Pakistan as long as the situation is secure,” Hockley concluded.

It is apropos to mention here that Australia last toured Pakistan 24 years ago. The two teams faced each other in Australia, UAE, and England, due to security concerns.

Australia is set to play ODI and Test series against Pakistan. The Test series between the two countries will be played first, followed by the ODI series. The ODI and Test series will each have three games. The Pakistan-Australia ODI and Test series will take place from March 3 to April 2.
