Attock beat Karachi to claim Grade-2 Pakistan T20 Blind Cricket Trophy

QUETTA: Karachi’s Tahir Ali’s century went in vain as Attock defeated the side by five runs in the final of the recently-concluded Grade-2 of the Pakistan T20 Blind Cricket Trophy at Fatima Jinnah Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

In the final of the eight-team tournament, Karachi won the toss and invited Attock to bat first.

Batting first, Attock posted a mammoth 202/7 in the allotted 20 overs at the back of Muhammad Raheel’s brilliant knock. Raheel top-scored for the side with 59 runs, while Ehtisham ul Haq chipped in with 27 runs.

Tahir, Abdul Wahab and Hassan Raza fetched one wicket each for Karachi, while Attock lost four wickets running between the wickets.

Set to chase a gigantic 203 in the final, Karachi fell just five runs short despite a brilliant century from Tahir. The side finished at 197/6 in the 20 overs. Tahir top-scored for the side with his astonishing knock of 104 runs.

Bismillah Khan, on the other hand, also chipped in with 21 runs.

For Attock, Ehtisham led the way with the ball as he took three wickets. He was adjudged as the player of the match following his all-round performance.

Attock’s Mohammad Sohail (B1) Quetta’s Niamat Ullah (B2), and Multan’s Mohammad Safdar (B3) were adjudged as the Players of the Tournament, while Quetta’s Naseebullah was picked as the best wicket-keeper.
