Pakistan’s Atif Butt crowned ‘King of Iron Fist’ in Tekken World Tour

AMSTERDAM: Pakistan’s Egamers continued to reign supreme at the international level as Gujranwala-hailed Atif Butt was crowned the ‘King of Iron Fist’ by winning the Tekken World Tour 2022 videogame tournament here on Sunday.

The videogame developer Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. organised the Tekken World Tour (TWT) series organised – an international offline tournament series – where the “Best compete to be crowned The King of the Iron Fist.”

According to the details, 24 players from across the world participated in the tournament and made their way into the main round after the regional qualifiers that included Pakistan for the first time.

In the final of the event, Pakistan’s Butt downed South Korea’s Sang-hyun “Jeondding” Jeon to secure first place and bag prize money of $50,000.

Taking to Twitter, Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. shared the winning moments of Butt against Jeon.

 

Meanwhile, the official Twitter handle of Tekken said: “It’s official — the new King of the Iron Fist is Atif Butt.”

 

Expressing his ecstasy on winning the title, Butt thanked his friends and family members for the support and shared that he was out of words as it was a surreal moment for him.

“Humbled and overwhelmed by all the messages and wishes coming my way! You’re all too kind! Thank you so much!!

“All of this feels so very unreal, thank you all for everything, upwards and onwards! This is just the beginning!” he tweeted.

 

Furthermore, Pakistan’s trailblazer Egamer Arslan Ash shared a picture with winner Butt.

 

Meanwhile, Ash himself could finish 13th in the final and said he needs to improve a lot.

“I need to improve a lot. God willing, next year,” he said reviewing his own performance,” wrote Ash.

“At least I was able to do what I had been preparing for,” he added.
