LAHORE: Olympic gold Medalist Arshad Nadeem will not take part in the upcoming Lausanne Diamond League after deciding to train in South Africa.
The 2026 Lausanne Diamond League is scheduled to take place on 21 August in Switzerland.
The Javelin star, currently training at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore, had a below-par outing at the Commonwealth Games as he failed to qualify for the final round.
As per reports, the Olympic champion has decided to focus on overseas training rather than competing at the Lausanne event.

Nadeem’s name was initially included in the entry list for the Lausanne Diamond League, scheduled for 21 August.
The 28-year-old will train in Potchefstroom for two weeks. He is expected to return to action at the World Athletics Ultimate Championships, scheduled to take place in Budapest from September 6 to 14.
He would then participate in the Asian Games.
Meanwhile, at the recently concluded Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, Nadeem finished ninth in the men’s javelin throw final with a best throw of 77.41 metres.
Arshad finished ninth among 12 athletes who participated in the final after the qualifying round. The 29-year-old crashed out after the first three attempts.
Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage won gold with a decisive throw of 89.75 meters in the second round.
