Pakistan Army to rescue mountaineer Shehroze Kashif from Camp Two

GILGIT: Young Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, who was found after going missing following his successful expedition of Nanga Parbat will now be rescued by the Pakistan Army from Camp Two, his father Kashif Salman told the media.

In the latest development, Kashif revealed that the Pakistan Army will now be rescuing the climber from Camp two and will drop him to Skardu.

“Just came to know that Army is going to pick Shehroze and Fazal Ali from or below Camp2 and drop him to Skardu,” Kashif stated.

Following this initiative, Kashif also extended his gratitude to Pakistan Amy, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and DG ISPR Babar Iftikhar and claimed the mountaineer would feel honoured by this favour.

“I would like to thank the Chief of Army Staff, Pakistan Army, DG ISPR for this favour of saving his few days although he is very fine health wise and descended down from 7500 m where he got stuck and spent the whole night,” Kashif stated.

“He does not have any idea if he will be honoured getting this favour from Army. But he is going to be very happy I am sure. I would also like to thank the Gilgit Baltistan government for their support throughout,” he concluded.

It is pertinent to mention here that following his successful summit, Shehroze became the youngest to successfully summit Nanga Parbat, the ninth highest peak in the world, yesterday. Whereas, he already holds the record for being the youngest mountaineer to reach the summit of Mount Everest and K2.
