Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director High Performance and selection committee member Aqib Javed has dismissed reports suggesting that middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam is set to join the national Test squad in England.
Pakistan are currently in England for a three-match Test series against the hosts, with Babar Azam leading the side in his second assignment as Test captain since returning to the role.
Speaking to the media, Aqib clarified that there was no truth to reports linking Kamran with a late addition to the touring squad, insisting that no such proposal was currently under consideration.
The 30-year-old Kamran has represented Pakistan in six Tests and 11 ODIs. He made his Test debut against England in Multan in October 2024 and immediately made an impression, scoring 118 off 224 deliveries while batting at No. 4.
Kamran has scored 312 runs in Test cricket at an average of 28.36, including one century and one half-century. In ODIs, he has accumulated 210 runs at an average of 30, with a century and a fifty.

The right-hander last represented Pakistan in a Test against the West Indies and an ODI against New Zealand in 2025.
Kamran is currently in action in domestic cricket as part of the Pakistan Gold squad for the National Champions Cup, which is being played in Multan from August 11 to 18.
Pakistan have travelled to England with a 17-member Test squad for the series, which marks their first Test tour of the country since 2020 and is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
The first Test will be played at Headingley in Leeds from August 19 to 23, while the second Test is scheduled for Lord’s from August 27 to 31. The series will conclude at Edgbaston in Birmingham from September 9 to 13.
