Pakistan’s Amna qualifies for Singles Squash plate semi-finals in CWG

BIRMINGHAM: Amna Fayyaz reached the Women’s Singles Plate Squash semi-final as she outclassed Trinidad and Tobago’s Charlotte Knaggs 3-0 to keep Pakistan’s medal hopes alive in the Commonwealth Games 2022. 

Amna eased past her opponent in the quarter-final round with the scores of 11-7, 11-4, and 11-5 after her compatriot Faiza Zafar achieved a sensational win earlier in the same round.

Amna will now face Mary Fung-a-Fat of Guyana in today’s women’s singles semifinal. Meanwhile, Pakistani duo, Amna and Faiza, will compete in the Women’s Doubles Round-of-16 against Malaysia’s Arnold Rachel and Azman Aifa on August 4 in the Commonwealth Games.
