ABU DHABI: Alishan Sharafu’s magnificent half-century in the run chase bolstered Emirates Blue to stun leaders Fujairah in the 31st match of the ongoing Emirates D10 League.
Set to chase a massive total of 106, Emirates Blue comfortably accumulated 111 for the loss of three wickets with an over to spare, thanks to a sensational 59-run knock by Alishan Sharafu.
The opening batter struck seven boundaries and three sixes amid his match-winning effort and faced 26 deliveries before finally perishing in the seventh over when his side needed a further 16 runs in three overs.
Fahad Nawaz’s 13-ball 26 made sure a dominating victory for Emirates Blue with six balls to spare as he stitched an unbeaten 23-run partnership with skipper Ansh Tandon, who remained not out on one.
For Fujairah, Umair Ali Khan, Muhammad Rohid and Haider Ali struck out a batter each.

Put into bat first, Fujairah piled up a decent total of 105/5 in their quota of 10 overs as Nasir Faraz led their batting charge with a quickfire knock at the backend.
Faraz faced 19 deliveries amid his unbeaten knock and hit five sixes on his way to 39 runs and top-scored for Fujairah.
Besides him, Shahbaz Ali (23 off 11) and Umair Ali Khan (13 off five) muscled Fujairah to a commendable total with vital contributions at the death.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan batted sensibly up the order and remained the other notable run-getter with a 15-ball 19 with the help of three boundaries.
Adithya Shetty once again proved vital with the ball for Emirates Blue as he led their bowling charge with two wickets and leaked away just six runs while Sabir Rao and Unaib Rehman made one scalp each.
The seven-wicket victory lifted Emirates Blue to the fourth spot with eight points, while Fujairah with 14 points remained at the top despite the defeat.
